March 17th, 2020

Greetings, Faith family –

First of all, thank you for your concerns, calls, prayers, texts, emails and general care as we explore a path forward during the pandemic known as COVID-19. Please know that your staff spent a sweet time of prayer yesterday, praying for you and our church family.

As of yesterday, the CDC continued to encourage careful measures to help slow the spread of the virus. Our President urged Americans to avoid gatherings of more than 10-15 people. The Missourian reported yesterday that area schools are closing until April 3.

After much thought, prayer, and seeking wise counsel from our deacon body, we have decided that Faith will not meet in person this Sunday for worship services. I say specifically that we will not meet in person because we will offer an online time of worship, prayer and teaching. More information will be coming soon with those details. If you have an internet connection, you will have access to this service.

Please feel free to share any resources we send you with others, as we hope to encourage our community with the hope of Jesus. We are working diligently to determine how to lead Faith during this difficult time.

In the meantime, here’s how you can help:
1. Pray.
2. Rest. Many of us are finding our calendars which were once full now to be empty. Consider how God might use this time to strengthen your relationship with Him and others. Consider how God is offering you a Sabbath rest.
3. Worship. This Sunday, we are going to provide an opportunity to worship the Lord as a family. Remembering Deuteronomy 6:4-9, this is an excellent time to follow the Lord.
4. Communicate. If you have thoughts on how the church can help our community or someone you know in need, please email, call, or text us. Please don’t use Facebook Messenger as a means of communicating with us, as we don’t check FM often.
5. If there is someone you know from Faith that does not have internet access, please let us know. We are making arrangements to communicate with them as well.

Last, please be aware of the following cancellations:
1. No worship services this weekend, March 22.
2. No Grow Groups this weekend, March 22.
3. No business meeting Sunday, March 22.
4. There will be no Awana on campus through April 1. Our Awana team is creatively considering how to minister through media.

We don’t know when we will meet again, but we long to see you! We love you and our hearts are burdened to see you again.
We love you, Faith!
