Job Description
Position Title: 
Director of Children’s Ministry
Reports to: Senior Pastor
Status: Part-Time (20-30 hours per week, includes Sunday & Wednesday evening activities)
Pay: Up to $24K depending on skills and experience of candidate
Position Summary: Create, manage, and direct all aspects of children’s ministry (birth through sixth grade)
  • Christ-follower
  • Children’s ministry experience required
  • Clearance of criminal background check
  • Demonstrates evidence of a Christ-like attitude in words and actions
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with a high degree of discipline
  • Organized
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team-oriented with ability to work with children, volunteers, staff, and parents to coordinate children’s ministry
  • Ability to make changes, corrections, and solve problems quickly under pressure
  • A passion for children’s ministry & family discipleship
  • Be reliable, take initiative and be self-motivated

  • Use appropriate judgment in the areas of discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality
Responsibilities & Job Duties:
  • Develop vision and strategy for all children’s ministry environments
  • Connect with young families to support and equip parents in nurturing their child’s faith
  • Recruit, schedule, and oversee nursery, early childhood, and elementary volunteer workers, providing leadership and training in accordance with our child protection policies
  • Evaluate, obtain, and distribute curriculum & supplies for workers
  • Plan & promote children’s events including marketing efforts (website, social media, print materials, etc.)
  • Participate in church staff meetings
  • Communicate children’s ministry activities to the church throughout quarterly reports
